Fall Hair Trends Begin With Loving Your Hair and Loving the Season

Staying focused on the forward movement of  fashion and beauty, here in the middle of our dreadfully hot summer days and nights, I feel the auras of fall approaching. The weather will dial down the fury of heat and humidity. We will see, taste, hear, smell, feel, the shift in seasons. And of course fashion and beauty will follow in the movement as we transition into fall. Boots, purples, coats, depth, browns, reds, holidays, sleeves! The color palette gets richer. The feel becomes soft deep and romantic as we mimic in our clothes and grooming the metamorphosis of the natural world. In my work I see it begin at the peak of summer. I think some of us just hope that if we start the movement summer will subside and we can start fall shopping. This fall season the runways will be giving in to the fact that the hair is on top of the head and it deserves to be treated as such.

Your hair is your most amazing accessory. If treated right you can wear your hair beautifully as you transform it the way you do your wardrobe season to season, one complimenting the other. During the summer even the most diligent of protective efforts cannot prevent all of the damage threats brought on by the environment of the summer months. So a refresh of moisture and possibly a repair treatment are good ways to move from the days of pool water and sun to the days of  holiday parties and pictures. As a matter of fact the first step in richening your hair should be ensuring that it is properly moisturized. To be rich is to be supple to be supple is to not be parched and frayed.

Deepening your color is an excellent decision during this seasonal shift. I become ecstatic every year as this time approaches and the deep romantic colors begin to whisper to women influencing hair color changes. This doesn’t mean that blondes need to become brunettes and brunettes need to go black.  A full head of high lighted hair can be deepened by adding more low lights or lowering the level of the toner for a richer finish. Whatever you choose to do make the decision with confidence and enjoy our connection with the world we live in as you enjoy your new fall look!
